    This menu is for Kathryn Winn Primary and Cartmell Elementary Schools,  changes for Carroll County High School and Middle School will be italicized

    Monday, April 6-April 10: Spring Break.

    Monday, April 13: Breakfast: mini pancakes; lunch: pork bites, mashed potatoes, green beans with roll, apple or diced peaches. Carroll County High School and middle school will offer: biscuit and gravy for breakfast and Chicken Parmesan or Alfredo, tossed salad, broccoli, breadstick, banana or pineapple tidbits for lunch.

  • CCHS graduation set for May 31

    Carroll County High School graduation is set for May 31, as the Carroll County Board of Education approved the revised 2014-2015 school calendar at its meeting March 26.

    Thursday, April 2: Breakfast: Chicken biscuit; lunch: Rotini with meat sauce, breadstick, tossed salad, California style veggies, grapes or applesauce.

  • Sunny D donates books to middle school library

    Thanks to the SunnyD Book Spree program, Carroll County Middle School received more than 400 free books in March. SunnyD, also known as Sunny Delight, is an orange juice drink produced by the Sunny Delight Beverages Company. The Book Spree program allowed teachers to mail labels from SunnyD products back to the company in exchange for free books.

  • Carroll students participate in environmental training

    The environment has been front and center in recent weeks. Water shortages occurring in multiple states are making headline news. States not normally affected by snow are reporting record snowfall totals. Mother Nature is making her presence known.

    In 1999, Kentucky introduced a problem-solving event, the Envirothon Program, to high school students. With the support of natural resource professionals, students are trained in the ways that real life environmental problems are solved. The Envirothon is an example of the practical use of STEM initiatives.

    What would happen if you were a student caught selling beer outside the gym during a basketball game? Or you were a baseball player who used dip and developed a sore in your mouth? Or you were at a party and a friend overdosed?
