  • Tentative budget for 2012-13 approved by Board of Education

    Chief Financial Officer Jon Conrad presented a tentative budget overview for the 2012-13 school year to the Carroll County Board of Education Thursday.

    The budget totals $23,194,130. The deadline to submit the working budget to the state is Sept. 30.

  • Carroll County High School Spring Choral Concert

     The Carroll County High School Chorus presented the Spring Choral Concert on Thursday, May 17 at 7 p.m. at Cartmell Elementary School.

    The program included the songs “I Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum, “Fire and Rain,” by James Taylor, “An American Tribute,” “Africa”, by Toto, and “For Good”, from Wicked.

    The choir consists of 14 members this year. Choir director Mary Ellis Coombs said that the choir members “like what they’re doing, and are proud to be a part of the choir”.

  • Luke Yap recognized at WKU graduation

    Luke Yung Yap of Carroll County graduated Saturday, May 12, from Western Kentucky University’s Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science.

    This was the fifth year of the program designed for high school seniors.

    Forty-seven students representing 30 counties from across the commonwealth were recognized during the ceremony in Van Meter Auditorium.

  • Unker earns master’s degree from EKU

    Luke Unker graduated with a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Eastern Kentucky University on May 5. This degree has prepared him work in the field of human resources. While attending EKU, he maintained a grade average of 4.0. 

    He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology with minors in sociology and classical studies from the University of Kentucky in 2010.

    Unker is a 2006 graduate of Carroll County High School and is the son of Tom and Charlotte Unker of Carrollton.

  • Marsh graduates from Campbellsville

    Brandi Elizabeth Marsh of Carrollton graduated magna cum laudeMay 4 with a bachelor’s degree in social work from Campbellsville University.

    She is a graduate of Carroll County High School in Carrollton, and is the daughter of Darrell and Alice Marsh of Carrollton.
