Changes in Kentucky’s student testing procedures mean that Carroll County students will be required to be 100 percent “proficient” in reading and math by the end of the 2013-14 school year.

That’s the message Superintendent Lisa James delivered to members of the Carroll County Board of Education Thursday, Feb. 9.

Western Kentucky University Department of Theater and Dance opens their 2012 Mainstage Season Feb. 24-26 with “Oklahoma,” one of the world’s most popular musicals. Carrollton native Cody Clifton, a WKU junior, plays Chalmers in the production.

The audience will be transported to the early days of Oklahoma’s history as they watch WKU students kick up their heels and entertain with a story of young love.
