    Thursday, Aug. 13: Breakfast: Sausage biscuit or mini cinnis and apple; lunch: Soft taco, lettuce/tomato, cheese/salsa/sour cream, refried beans, Mexican rice, grapes or pineapple tidbits. Carroll County middle and high schools will offer Sausage cheese bagel for breakfast and taco or chicken fajita for lunch.

  • Leave your legacy: Students to learn from alumni

    A good school district equips its graduates to make a difference in the world, and many Carroll County School District alumni are doing just that.

    This year, the district is celebrating alumni who are leaders in areas as diverse as aviation, veterinary medicine, business and web development. Through social media (#LeaveYourLegacyCC), school displays and other means, the district will help students and community members see the great things happening in the world as a result of CCSD alumni.

    Carroll County School District students and parents will notice that all students will not have to pay for breakfast or lunch this school year.

  • Return to Learn

    School resumed Wednesday, Aug. 12, for students at Carroll County Schools and Christian Academy of Carrollton.

  • Change orders totalling $15,000 OK’d for field project

    Carroll County Board of Education approved changes to wiring for the lights and sidewalks for the athletic complex at the high school during a special meeting July 30.

    The $3.5 million dollar project completely replaces the bleachers, concession stand and restrooms. A new artificial turf playing surface wide enough to serve both soccer and football and an eight-lane track are being installed.

  • Tasty transportation

    Children created edible cars as a part of Cartmell Elementary’s “Discover Engineering Days” July 29. The students used candy and other junk food items to create an edible car that would travel down a ramp. The cars must have a body, two axels and at least three wheels. 

  • August resolutions to ready for classes

    While January is the first of twelve months by the calendar, for many children and parents, the year really begins on the first day of school in August. Stores are packed with pencils, pens, binders and backpacks. School buses come out of their summer hibernation, and after eight weeks away from school, almost everyone is ready for the year to get started.

  • Ready fair August 6 at Cartmell Elementary

    The Family Ties Resource Center will be sponsoring their annual Ready Fair from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 6 at Cartmell Elementary School.

    Students and parents will have the opportunity to meet the principals and administrators. Cartmell teachers will be in their classrooms to greet their new students. Kathryn Winn teachers will be at Kathryn Winn School in their classrooms also from 4-6 p.m. to greet KWP students.
