    Monday, April 11: Breakfast: Mini pancakes or cereal and toast and apple; lunch: Chicken Parmesan, garden salad, steamed broccoli, breadstick, applesauce or orange wedges. Carroll County Middle and High School will offer chicken Parmesan or Alfredo for lunch.

  • Dow Corning donates funds for equipment at new campus

    The Dow-Corning Foundation awarded the Carrollton Campus of Jefferson Community and Technical College a grant for $177,704 to be used on equipment for the applied processes program lab at the new campus being built on Hwy. 227.

    The company has hired nine JCTC graduates in the last two years and currently has seven JCTC students working in various co-op programs, according to a news release from Dow Corning.

  • Carroll County Schools exceeds College, Career Readiness goal

    In 2011, the Carroll County School District made a commitment to increase its College and Career Readiness rate by 50 percent by 2015. Thanks to the dedication of teachers, staff and students, the district exceeded its goal, having more than 75 percent of its high school students achieve College and/or Career Readiness last year.

    Thursday, March 31: Sausage biscuit or mini cinnis and apple; lunch: Soft taco, lettuce/tomato, cheese/salsa/sour cream, refried beans, Mexican rice, grapes or pineapple tidbits. Carroll County Middle and High School will offer Sausage cheese bagel for breakfast and taco or chicken fajita for lunch.

  • Five JCTC students inducted into Phi Theta Kappa honors society

    The Jefferson Community and Technical College Carrollton Campus recently inducted five students into Phi Theta Kappa, the international honors society of two-year colleges.  This organization focuses on four main pillars of excellence: scholarship, leadership, fellowship and service.
