  • Board of Education | Jan. 16, 2013

    In a brief first meeting of 2013, the Carroll County Board of Education voted to keep its officers in place, as well as officers for the Carroll County School District Finance Corporation.

    Mona Kindoll was voted to remain as chairman and Carolyn Jones vice chairman of both entities. Jon Conrad remains as the treasurer for the board and the corporation; James Crawford remains as the attorney for the board and the corporation.

    What is your favorite thing about school and why?

    “My favorite thing about school is math because it teaches me stuff so I can be good for college and be better when I grow up. I learn subtraction, division and a lot more stuff.”

    What is your favorite subject and why?

    “My favorite subject is science because it helps me to learn about the planets in the solar system and other stuff I like.”

  • CCHS financial aid, scholarship seminar Jan. 9 at school library

    Carroll County High School will be offering a Parent-Student Financial Aid Seminar Session on Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the CCHS Library. 

    Local scholarship guidelines will be reviewed and local scholarship booklets will be distributed to all parents and students.

    There are frightening statistics available that show an alarming number of students that endure bullying although many states, including Kentucky, have passed laws to make it a crime. It is estimated that one out of three children have been bullied while one out of three have been bullies themselves.

  • STLP running group hosts 5k Jan. 12

    Tired of those numbers going up on the scale? Ready to ring in the New Year by staying healthy? There are many ways you can achieve your New Year’s Resolutions and stay in shape!

    One way is by exercising! A good way to exercise is by running/walking! Our CCMS STLP group “Run 4 Your Life” is all about raising awareness so you can achieve a healthier and better lifestyle and there are many ways you can do this.

    Menu is subject to change due to availability of food, breakfast is offered daily, milk, juice, toast, cereal.

    Wednesday, Jan. 9: Tomato soup, grilled cheese, chilled broccoli and carrots with dip, oranges, applesauce and milk; breakfast: French toast.

    Thursday, Jan. 10: Tacos with tortilla, lettuce, tomato, cheese and salsa, pinto beans, Mexican rice, diced peaches, banana and milk; breakfast: sausage biscuit.

    Friday, Jan. 11: Chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, green beans, Kale, roll, apple, fruit cocktail and milk; breakfast: breakfast pizza.

    Not sure, but he wants to go to a big college.
