  • Accelerated Learning classes offer students many opportunities

    Many people think the online learning program at the high school is only for credit recovery students; however, this is not the case. I am an example of one of these students who is taking advantage of the accelerated learning program to take classes that I otherwise would not have the opportunity to take over at the high school.

  • ‘No More Secrets’ offers body safety message

    Elementary students in Carroll and four neighboring counties will learn about “body safety” through performances of “No More Secrets” by Blue Apple Players of Louisville this month.

    The 10 performances are sponsored by Ohio Valley United Charities Inc. in recognition that April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

    The two performances in Carroll County are planned for April 25.

    This menu is for Kathryn Winn Primary School and Cartmell Elementary. Carroll County High School and Carroll County Middle School are the same except for where noted.

    Thursday, April 10: Pork bites, California blend veggies, pinto beans, roll, apple and baked pears; breakfast: Sausage biscuit.

    Friday, April 11: Sloppy Joe on bun or corndog bites, potato wedges, kale, peach cups or fruit cocktail; breakfast: Donuts.

    Monday, April 14: Chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll, orange or pineapple tidbits; breakfast: Breakfast pizza.

  • District repeats a national ranking in technology

    The Carroll County School District placed fourth nationally in this year’s Digital School Districts Survey.  The survey is given each year by the National School Boards Association’s Technology Leadership Network and the Center for Digital Education.

    “The survey showcases exemplary school boards’ and districts’ use of technology to govern the district, communicate with students, parents and the community, and improve district operations,” according to a Center for Digital Education (CDE) news release.
