• Tricks or Treats!

    The Carroll County Area Technology Center hosted the Cartmell Elementary Students for trick or treat Halloween day. ATC handed out candy and also had a haunted house. This was the second year for ATC to host Cartmell.

  • Geocaching, teambuilding event held at Camp Kysoc

    Jefferson Community and Technical College-Carrollton Campus held its annual Teambuilding and Geocaching Event on Friday, Sept. 19 at Camp Kysoc.

    Nine-teen students participated in the event starting the day with various leadership and teambuilding activities with Regan Wann, English Faculty Instructor at the Carroll-ton Campus.

    Thursday, Nov. 6: Breakfast: sausage biscuit; lunch: crunchy or soft taco, lettuce, tomato, cheese, salsa, refried beans, Spanish rice, grapes or fruit. Carroll County High School and middle school will offer: Burrito Bar, grapes or fruit coctail.

  • CCMH job shadowing provides valuable learning experience

    Several Carroll County High School students have been job shadowing local health care providers as part of the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Biomedical Science program. 

    The students have spent multiple days at Carroll County Memorial Hospital shadowing in the emergency room, the pharmacy and several departments, such as radiology, nursing and more.

    “The students are able to job shadow in any department that they like,” said Sheila Tomlinson, administrative coordinator for the hospital. 

  • Sophomore parent night

    Carroll County High School will host a sophomore parent night at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6. Parents are asked to bring their sophomore with them if they can.

    Instructional Coach Valerie Washburn and College and Career Readiness Counselor Rachel Mefford will distribute the student’s ACT/PLAN scores, help navigate reading the results and discuss the next steps to help the student achieve their goals and dreams.

    Light refreshments will be provided.

  • Harper tells students to follow their dreams, make good choices

    Former Indianapolis Colts player Shawn Harper spoke with Carroll County students in late October about the power of choice and of pursuing dreams.

    Harper’s assemblies combine feats of strength, such as rolling up a frying pan, with motivational speaking that shows students how to break free from mental chains. Mental chains are the false beliefs that people hold that keep them from living up to their potential.

    Harper spoke to all students at Carroll County High School and Carroll County Middle School over the course of the day.
