    Thursday, March 2: Breakfast: Chicken biscuit or apple cinnamon toast or fruit pocket; lunch: Chicken patty on bun with baked beans, smiley fries and banana. Carroll County High School and Middle School will offer, spicy or regular chicken filet on bun along with baked beans, smiley fries and banana.

  • Art portfolios go digital at Carroll County High School

    The arts are a crucial element in having a well-rounded education. They are a way for students to express their individuality, and ultimately, find their calling.

    “Students need a creative outreach, they really do. You can do creative things in regular classes, but to have a class that is designated to the fine arts has a lot of appeal to a lot of students,” Said Carroll County High School Arts and Humanities teacher, Cori Edens.

  • Head Start building expansion wins board of ed’s OK

    The Carroll County Board of Education approved a building project application for the addition of four classrooms to expand the all-day Head Start program for four year olds. The application also includes a new roof and heating and air conditioning system for Kathryn Winn Primary.

    The project total is $5,171,703.36, with construction costs coming in at $4,3324,496.

  • CCHS invites parents to conferences

    Carroll County High School invites 9th-11th grade parents to attend scheduling conferences at the high school library. The following are the dates and times:

    Current 11th graders: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, and Wednesday, March 8

    Current 10th graders: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Thursday, March 9, and Friday, March 10

    Current 9th graders: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Monday, March 13, and Tuesday, March 14

  • University of Kentucky announces Dean’s List

    University of Kentucky Dean’s List for the fall 2016 semester includes Carroll County residents, Makena B. Kindoll, a junior majoring in Management; Arial Rebecca-Marie McBurney, a freshman, majoring in Pre-Marketing, Karlee Mykel, a sophomore, majoring in English and Elliann Elizabeth Yocum, a freshman majoring in Human Health Science.

  • Eastern Kentucky announces Fall 2016 Dean’s List

    Eastern Kentucky University has announced the fall 2016 semester Dean’s List honors. The students listed from Carroll County are as follows: senior Steven Nicholas Abbott, senior Jacob Allen Wise, junior Allison Glenn Fornash, sophomore Amanda Danielle Lambert, freshman Sara Michelle Holloway, freshman Shianne Lee Mefford, and frehsman Allie Joanne Simmons.

  • Burns named to Dean’s List

    Michael Burns of Carrollton, Ky., has been named to the Transylvania University dean’s list for the 2016 fall semester. Burns, a graduate of Carroll County High School, is majoring in political science.

    To be named to the dean’s list, a student must achieve at least a 3.5 grade point average during the term.
