    This menu is for Cartmell Elementary and Kathryn Winn Primary Schools. Carroll County High School and Middle Schools are the same except for where noted.

    Thursday, Feb. 6: Spaghetti with meat sauce, California blend veggies, peas, grapes and peaches; breakfast: Sausage biscuit and gravy. (CCHS and CCMiddle School will offer Taco with tortilla, burrito, lettuce, tomato, cheese salsa, refried beans, and Mexican rice).

    Friday, Feb. 7: Grilled chicken sandwich, lettuce, tomato, pickle, Nantucket veggies, curly fries, apple and Mandarin oranges; breakfast: Donuts.

  • University of Kentucky announces Fall 2013 Dean’s List

    The following Carroll County High School graduates have been named to the University of Kentucky dean’s list for the Fall 2013 semester: Devon Renee Hill, a senior, majoring in chemical engineering; Tristan John-Kelly Root, a senior, majoring in history; Kevin States, a junior, majoring in marketing; and Kristen Slone Thornsberry, a sophomore, majoring in nutrition and food science-hospitality management.

  • School district to offer in-school dental care this month

    All students in the Carroll County School District will have access to in-school dental care the week of Feb. 24. School Smiles will be sending a licensed dentist, a licensed dental hygienist and a dental assistant to each school in the district over the course of the week.

    School Smiles is a nationwide provider of on-site dental care, offering services at schools and other facilities across the country.

  • Lighthouse wins $352,500 grant for after school programming

    The Carroll County 21st Century Lighthouse Program won a grant worth $352,500 over five years. The school district received the news from Frankfort Jan. 27. The Lighthouse provides after-school tutoring and enrichment to students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

    Friday, Jan. 31: Seafood basket, mac and cheese, cole slaw, Nantucket veggies, apple and fruit cocktail; breakfast: French toast sticks.

  • Craig named to Hanover dean’s list

    D.C. Craig was one of more than 300 students who earned Dean’s List honors for the Fall 2013 semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must have a GPA of 3.5 or better.

    Craig, a senior communication major, is the son of David and Janet Craig of Carrollton. He is a graduate of Carroll County High School.
