    Thursday, Feb. 26: Breakfast: sausage biscuit; lunch: soft taco, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese/salsa, sour cream, refried beans, Mexican rice, grapes or fruit cocktail. Carroll County High School and middle school will offer: sausage, egg and cheese biscuit for breakfast.

    Andrew E. Crane, a sophomore from Union, Ky., was named to the Virginia Military Institute’s Dean’s List for the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, 
a cadet must have a term grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and no grade below C. Crane is majoring in psychology and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David B. Crane.

    Thursday, Feb. 19: Breakfast: chicken biscuit; lunch: hot dog with bun, chili sauce, cheese, potato rounds, grapes or diced pears. Carroll County High School and middle school will offer: Philly cheese or Buffalo chicken with bun, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, green peppers, baked beans and fries.

  • Tenth-annual Seuss birthday bash celebrates literacy, learning

    What do stories about beetles battling with paddles, a rhyming fox and multi-colored fish have in common? Dr. Seuss, of course! On Feb. 28, the Carroll County Early Childhood Council (CCECC) is hosting the tenth-annual Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash at Kathryn Winn Primary School from 10 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The annual Seuss-centered event celebrates the birth of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss.
