Friday afternoon, May 31, was a busy one for firefighters in the city of Carrollton.
They were first called to a fire at Michael Sherman’s dental office, 519 Highland Ave., above Cornerstone Floral. That was followed by a kitchen fire on Third Street and a lightening strike that knocked a tree onto power lines and sent an electrical surge through a Highland Avenue home, filling it with smoke.
The first fire call has closed Sherman’s office and left Cornerstone Floral handling its orders by telephone.
