Levels on the lake at General Butler State Resort Park have been up and down lately, as workers try to draw it down to make repairs to a valve on the dam.
But the weather hasn’t been cooperating. Workers lower the lake levels and then heavy rains over the past two weeks have refilled the lake, just for it to be drawn down again.
Park Manager Jim Cooper said workers need to get the water level below the gate on the dam, where they are checking it as part of routine maintenance. While they are at it, he said they will be repairing a faulty valve.
