Carroll County has a reputation as a small town with a comparatively high drug problem. Local and state law enforcement work every day to combat the epidemic. To help educate the public on this issue afflicting the area, Champions for a Drug-Free Carroll County held a town hall meeting Thursday, Oct. 20 at the National Guard Armory. About 40 people attended.
Kathy Dawson, whose son Aaron, 27, was using heroin and died in 2009, spoke about how drugs have affected her family.
