    The Lady Panthers picked up their fourth straight win over the Lady Rebels Friday, Jan. 30, winning 50-45. Carroll’s Haley Dermon led all scorers with 17 points.

  • Benhoff named to Dean’s List

    Carroll County High School 2014 graduate Kiana Benhoff was named to Bellarmine University’s Fall 2014 Dean’s List for earning a grade point average of 3.5 or above. She is a music technology major and also serves as a Student Ambassador.

  • Boswell joins United Citizens Bank staff

    Robert (Robb) Boswell has joined the staff of United Citizens Bank & Trust Company. He will be the Branch Manager and Loan Officer at the Carrollton branch. Boswell is a 1989 graduate of Carroll County High School and a 1992 graduate of Louisville Technology College (Sullivan College). He attends Worthville Baptist Church.

    Boswell resides in Carrollton with his wife, Lori, a lab manager at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, and his two sons, Wyatt and Cody.

  • Monster second half results in 19-point win for ladies

    Carroll County Lady Panthers put together a complete game in a 59-40 defeat of the Newport Ladycats Tuesday, Feb. 3.

    Newport jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead before Carroll battled back, taking an 11-9 lead on a Lauren Moore basket. Newport closed the first quarter out with a pair of free throws to lead by one point.

    Newport pushed out to its largest lead, 20-13, before Abigail Aulbach hit a 3-point shot to close the gap to four points. Carroll tied the game at 22 before Mariah Ingram hit a 3-point basket to give Newport the lead they carried into the half, 27-24.

  • West retires after 33 years at WLEX-TV

    Carroll County native and longtime general sales manager at NBC affiliate WLEX-TV Mary West retired in December after 33 years with the station.

    “It’s been a phenomenal three-plus decades of building relationships and working with people that have become like a family to me,” West said. “So that makes it bittersweet. But LEX18 is in a strong position with great momentum and a wonderful staff. If I’ve done my job well, we won’t miss a beat.”
