    This menu is for Kathryn Winn Primary and Cartmell Elementary Schools, changes for Carroll County High School and Middle School will be italicized.

    Thursday, Feb. 16: Breakfast: Chicken biscuit or apple cinnamon toast or fruit pocket; lunch: Soft taco, lettuce/tomato/ cheese/salsa/sour cream, refried beans, Mexican rice and banana. Carroll County High School and Middle School will offer: Soft taco or chicken fajita with lettuce/tomato/ cheese/salsa/sour cream, refried beans, Mexican rice and banana for lunch.

  • Spring homecoming a success at Carroll County High School

    Homecoming week is always filled with anticipation, unity and fervent school spirit. Throughout the week, students and teachers at Carroll County High School show their Panther Pride by participating in the unique dress-up days and door decorations. Then on Friday, they all come together with an academic pep-rally that recognizes both students and athletes.

    The daily festivities allow students to be creative and to take their minds off of all the stresses of the day.

    West Carroll Water District meets at 6 p.m. in the Carrollton Utilities conference room, 225 Sixth St.

    Carroll County Conservation District Board meets at 5 p.m. at the Conservation Office, 1802 Highland Ave.

    Gamblers Anonymous host an open meeting for family members every Thursday at 7 p.m. at Port Royal United Methodist Church, 8230 Port Royal Road.

    Soup supper at Relevant Church

    Relevant Church will host its annual spring soup supper from 4-7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17. Homemade soups (chili, bean, potato, taco, broccoli, chicken noodle and vegetable beef), desserts, chips and drinks. Donations accepted.

    I recently worked on adjusting the bell system for our church, which was quite out of date. I adjusted the toll times for our weekend services and even our daily services, along with improving the hourly chimes during the day. It inspired me to consider the use of bells in churches throughout the centuries.

    Community members are receiving phone calls in which the caller identifies himself/herself as a representative of Carroll County Memorial Hospital and requests that you verify your personal information for them. The hospital wants the community to be aware that this is a scam and not to verify any information with them, but instead to hang up.
