    Apostolic church presents ‘The Gift’

    First Apostolic Church will host its Christmas program at 10 a.m., Sunday Dec. 22. This year’s program, titled “The Gift,” will be a puppet show for all ages.  A special Christmas gift will be given to everyone who attends the service. Everyone is welcome to attend. Please contact the Rev. Allen Croucher for a ride if needed at (502) 525-7515.

    Carrollton Homemakers Club meets at 10:30 a.m. at the Carroll County Extension Office on Floyd Drive.

    Alcoholics Anonymous, 8 p.m., Carrollton Christian Church.

  • Dow Corning employees bring real life perspective to math

    Dow Corning is changing the way that students learn mathematics at Carroll County Middle School. Twelve Dow Corning employees are volunteering one hour each week to tutor seventh graders in mathematics during the school day.

    “We are excited to have Dow Corning volunteers,” CCMS math teacher Laura Willhoite said. “It’s great to have professionals willing to come in and help the students. We have engineers, business administrators and others willing to take time out of their busy schedules to help, and we are extremely grateful for that.”

  • Carroll County family loses home to fire Friday

    Another family has lost its home to fire this holiday season.

    Westside Volunteer Fire Department, Ghent Fire Protection District and Carrollton Fire Department fought a house fire at 2902 Mound Hill Road for almost seven hours Friday, Dec. 6.
