On July 14 at 8 p.m., I received a phone call from a man, who I could hardly understand due to his accent. He asked for me by name and read to me information he had on my address and bank’s name.
He told me he was sending me a new Medicare card and $50 in cash, and said he needed to deposit the money into my bank account.
I asked where he was calling from, and he replied, “Washington, D.C.” I told him I already have a Medicare card, and he said, “Throw it away!”
