  • Family welcomes baby daughter, Ariel Lavon Williams

    Kenneth and Opal Williams of Carrollton would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Ariel Lavon Williams born Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Baptist Health in LaGrange, Ky. at 12:08 p.m. She weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

    Brothers, Kenneth, 5, and Steven Murphy, 24 and sister, Ashley, 19, welcomed Ariel home.

    Maternal grandparents are, Rita Frazier of Worthville, Ky. and the late Rev. Leonard Robertson.

    Paternal grandparents are, Jennie and Thomas Long and Kenneth and Nancy Williams all of Carrollton.

  • JCTC students honored for achievements

    As the Carrollton Campus continues to thrive the talent, skills and community engagement in the students has increased. Excitement continues to grow on campus as students receive new opportunities that further themselves and the community.

    As the academic year came to an end, eight students were honored for their outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements.

     Five Carrollton Campus students earned JCTC’s highest academic honor when they were inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges.

  • Cartmell’s junior historians shine at Ky. convention

    Cartmell students in the school’s chapter of the Kentucky Junior Historical Society earned several top honors at the 2013 state convention and Kentucky History Day at the University of Louisville on Friday, April 26, and Saturday, April 27.  The club won the youth division “History Bowl” competition; placed first, second, and third on the history test; and earned first in group documentary category.

    Carrollton United Methodist Church men will hold their annual yard sale beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, May 4 at the corner of Fourth Street and Highland Avenue.

    Youth rally set for Worthville church
