  • White named to Berea fall 2010 dean’s list

    Noah White of Carrollton has been named to the Fall 2010 Dean’s List at Berea College. 

    A student is named to the Dean’s List who achieves a GPA of 3.2 or higher for a minimum course load equivalent to 16 semester hours.

    Every student receives the equivalent of a full-tuition scholarship and works at least 10 hours a week for the college to pay living expenses.

    Berea is a non-denominational, liberal arts college located in Berea, Ky.

  • Forms due April 13 for Prom Lock-in event

    Carroll County High School is planning for the 2011 Prom Lock-In.

    Many parents do not understand what Prom Lock-In really is. Prom Lock-In is an all night “party” at the high school for students sponsored by the Youth Services Center. The event will be held after the junior-senior prom on April 30.

    Lock-In is provided for students to give them a fun alternative that is alcohol and drug free.

  • Students take part in WKU history contest

    About 850 students from 40 schools in Kentucky and Tennessee participated in Western Kentucky University’s 38th annual History Contest March 25.

    The contest, sponsored by WKU’s Department of History, consisted of objective and essay examinations in Junior High American History, from colonial exploration through 1865; Senior High American History, from 1865 to the present; Junior High World History through the Middle Ages; and Senior High World History, Renaissance through the Cold War.
