    Fans were on the edge of their seats Friday night until the final buzzer sounded. Unfortunately for the home crowd, turnovers and lack of execution down the stretch by the Panthers sealed the win for the visiting Demons of Williamstown, 51-48 in double overtime.

    It was a nail biter. In the end the tension-packed Carroll County fan base erupted in frenzied joy as the Lady Panthers battled from behind to defeat Williamstown with a blink of an eyelash left on the clock.

  • Family welcomes baby boy - William Thomas Noble

    Jason and Lindsay Noble of Carrollton would like to announce the birth of their son, William Thomas Noble, born Nov. 11, 2010, at 5:04 p.m. at Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange, Ky. He weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Will was welcomed home by his three year old, big sister, Mallory,

    Maternal grandparents are Marty and Nina Marshall of Carrollton.

    Paternal grandparents are Bobby Noble of Ghent, Ky. and Della Noble of Carrollton.

  • Jodie Kemper retiring after 41 years at CCMH

    More than 100 well wishers crowded the cafeteria at Carroll County Memorial Hospital to bid farewell to Jodie Kemper who retires this month after 41 years of nursing at the hospital.  


    Many of her co-workers, including Jean Pyles, chairman of the hospital board; and Lisa Penick, chief nursing officer; gifted Jodie with cards and remembrances and praised Kemper’s passion for quality patient care.

    We are halfway through the month of February, have you started getting those tugs of Spring Fever? The spring gardening catalogs have already inundated our mail, which makes me daydream about warmer days. I probably have gone through them at least five or six times at this point, especially the section on herbs. They are okay dried, but I just love them fresh. I could almost smell them through the pages of the catalog.
