  • Carroll County District Court Public Records: Week of Dec. 5, 2012

    The following decisions were rendered Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 28-29, 2012, in Carroll County District Court with the Hon. Thomas M. Funk presiding.

  • Dean's LIst | Dec. 5, 2012

    The University of Northwestern Ohio announced that Cameron Stuart McClellen of Carrollton has made the Dean’s List for the October 2012 session in the College of Applied Technologies. Full-time students must receive a grade point average of 3.5 or better to be named to the Dean’s List. McClellen is majoring in Diesel Technology and Agriculture. He is the son of April S. McClellen and the grandson of the late C.E. Yocum and Donna Yocum.

    Lady Panthers drop season-opener

    Carroll was held scoreless in the first and third quarters, losing 58-24 at Western Hills Tuesday, Nov. 27. Makena Kindoll led the team with nine points, followed by Kayla Williamson, five; Lauren Moore, four; Kristen “Doodle” Amick, two; Tatum McIntyre, two; and Miranda Groseclose, two.

  • Boys win opener against Villa Madonna

    The Panthers managed to dodge a second-half scare from visiting Villa Madonna, hitting free throws late to secure a season-opening 59-51 victory Tuesday, Nov. 27, at home. They hit 20 of 26 free throws on the night.

    Carroll jumped out to a big lead early, up 19-8 at the end of the first quarter. “I thought we came out, in the beginning of the game, really sharp, really playing well,” head coach Carroll Yager said.

  • Lady Raiders take win over Panthers

    The Lady Panthers struggled Friday night to take care of the basketball, especially in press-breaking situations, turning over the ball 35 times in a 55-33 loss to the visiting Lady Raiders.

  • Panthers defeat Raiders, 67-56

    The gym was rocking Thursday night for what felt more like a playoff game than the second game of the season. But that’s to be expected when border rivals Carroll and Trimble collide.

    The Panthers dominated on the inside, out-rebounding the Raiders 33-21 and shooting 43 percent from two-point range, while the Raiders drained 12 threes from the outside. But it was Carroll’s pressure defense that gave them a plus-11 turnover margin and secured a 67-56 win at home.
