Over the last week or so in the Capitol, there has been a renewed push to help our youngest citizens and those who are young at heart.
On Monday, for example, Gov. Beshear presented the final report from a task force he formed more than a year ago to give a top-down look at our elementary and secondary schools and how they could be improved.
Two Ghent residents were arrested early Saturday morning by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, first offense, after a mobile meth lab was discovered in their vehicle.
Whitney Ballinger of Campbellsville University was named the NAIA National Division I Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Feb. 22. The honor is the fourth of her career, setting her apart from all other NAIA Division I women’s basketball players as the only one to receive the honor more than three times.
Ballinger was selected based on her performances from Feb. 14-20 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.
