  • A merry Prestonville Christmas

    The City of Prestonville hosted its annual Christmas Festival on Dec. 22. Santa came to visit, and there was a lot of fun things to do for the children. Even a few four-legged friends stopped by for pictures with Santa.

    Children received free gifts from Santa and Mrs. Clause, along with photos to cherish.


  • Local church to participate in prayer event

    The First Apostolic Church of Carrollton will represent Kentucky for the Worldwide Moms’ Day of Prayer from 9 a.m. to noon, Jan. 19. All moms in Kentucky and Southern Indiana are encouraged to come any time during those hours to pray specifically for our children.

    “My favorite thing about school is math because it teaches me stuff so I can be good for college and be better when I grow up. I learn subtraction, division and a lot more stuff.”

    “My favorite subject is science because it helps me to learn about the planets in the solar system and other stuff I like.”

  • CCHS financial aid, scholarship seminar Jan. 9 at school library

    Carroll County High School will be offering a Parent-Student Financial Aid Seminar Session on Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the CCHS Library. 

    Local scholarship guidelines will be reviewed and local scholarship booklets will be distributed to all parents and students.

    Panthers lose Gibson for season in win

    The Panthers won the game, but lost big at Henry County Jan. 2.

    Starting center senior Dallas Gibson injured his knee with less than five minutes to go in the game after he collided with a Henry County defender while driving to the basket for a layup, head coach Carroll Yager said. Gibson and his family found out Friday that he had torn his ACL, which would require surgery and put an end to his senior season.

It is estimated that one out of three children have been bullied while one out of three have been bullies themselves.

    One way is by exercising! A good way to exercise is by running/walking! Our CCMS STLP group “Run 4 Your Life” is all about raising awareness so you can achieve a healthier and better lifestyle and there are many ways you can do this.
