This menu is for Cartmell Elementary and Kathryn Winn Primary Schools. Carroll County High School and Middle Schools are the same except for where noted.

Thursday, Feb. 6: Spaghetti with meat sauce, California blend veggies, peas, grapes and peaches; breakfast: Sausage biscuit and gravy. (CCHS and CCMiddle School will offer Taco with tortilla, burrito, lettuce, tomato, cheese salsa, refried beans, and Mexican rice).

Friday, Feb. 7: Grilled chicken sandwich, lettuce, tomato, pickle, Nantucket veggies, curly fries, apple and Mandarin oranges; breakfast: Donuts.

The first day on the job at Carroll County Memorial Hospital was a busy one for Dr. Farooq Mirza.

Not only was he busy getting settled into his new offices, he also performed two surgeries and consulted on another that he scheduled for next week.

Mirza joined the team at CCMH Monday as the new full-time surgeon. Educated at Yale University and the University of Cincinnati, he is a board certified general surgeon.

All students in the Carroll County School District will have access to in-school dental care the week of Feb. 24. School Smiles will be sending a licensed dentist, a licensed dental hygienist and a dental assistant to each school in the district over the course of the week.

School Smiles is a nationwide provider of on-site dental care, offering services at schools and other facilities across the country.

In preparation for the upcoming bridge slide, the only remaining original Milton-Madison Bridge pier is scheduled to be demolished at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31. Demolition will require a brief bridge closure lasting approximately 10 minutes.
