  • Dow Corning purchases Meritor property

    Dow Corning Corp. has announced the purchase of the ArvinMeritor Heavy Vehicle Braking Systems Inc. property located on U.S. Hwy. 42 in Carroll County Tuesday. 

    The 142-acre site borders Dow Corning to the east. The purchase was completed last month, according to a news release Tuesday.

  • Original Kentucky River bridge was completed 110 years ago

    During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons of 110 years ago residents of Carrollton, Prestonville and surrounding environs were enjoying the excitement of having a new, state of the art bridge across the Kentucky River. Gone was the dependence on river ferries to connect east Carroll countians with those in the west.

  • Family welcomes baby son

    Nicki and Jason Beckham, of Ghent, would like to announce the birth of their son, Ryan Charles Beckham, born Sept. 19, 2010, at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville, Ky. He weighed 7 pounds 9 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are David Morgan of Milton, Ky. and C.W. and Angela Courtney of Carrollton, Ky. materna  great-grandparents are Sue Morgan of Carrollton and the late Charles Morgan.
