  • Adkins asks voters to support Knight

    Editor:

To the voters of the 15th Circuit, Grant,  Owen and Carroll counties: I wish to thank all of you who voted for me in the May Primary election for Circuit Judge. I am honored and grateful for your support. My family and I worked hard, and a special thanks to my daughters, Klaire, Alyssa, Darcy and Lauren, for walking so many miles and knocking on all those doors.

  • Thanks for supporting Woofstock

    Editor:

Carroll County Animal Support was started 11-and-a-half years ago with a handful of people who saw a need to help the unwanted, homeless and abused animals in our community.

At that time, we only hoped to be where we are today and to see all the wonderful people who came to our first Woofstock event at General Butler State Resort Park. Their support was, just in a word, fantastic.

There is no way topersonally thank everyone who helped at Woofstock, but we want to try.

  • Thanks given for helping with car problem

    Editor:

I’ve always been impressed with the people of Carrollton, now even more so. I was having trouble with the ignition key  in my car. I was parked in front of Picker’s Paradise across from Webster’s Drug store. The owner came out to help me and tried several things, but we couldn’t get it to work. She gave me the number for Chuck’s Lock Shop in Carrollton.

  • Cattlemen’s thanks those for help with Field Day

    Editor:

The Carroll County Cattlemen’s Association would like to give a special thanks to Jason and Robin Stephenson for hosting the Family Farm Field Day last Saturday, Sept. 20.  It takes a lot of work preparing a farm for this event.  Their farm looked great, and it was a beautiful day for the event.

This letter is in response to Dennis Webster’s letter published Sept. 11, 2014, concerning dirt and gravel left in his drive after Harley Drive was resurfaced.

  • Resident wants mess in drive cleaned up

     Editor:

It’s been three weeks since they paved Harley Drive, leaving the mess of dirt and gravel in my drive for me to clean up.

  • Mattresses must be bagged for trash

    Editor:

I have noticed several used mattresses along the curb recently for pick up by the trash collectors. Rumpke will pick up mattresses and furniture if they are properly prepared.

Due to the bed bug infestation, these items will not be taken by Rumpke unless they are sealed in a plastic bag. The bags are available from the city by contacting the mayor’s office at (502) 732-7051 or Public Works at 304 Sycamore Street, (502) 732-7050, or the Code Enforcement Officer at (502) 732-7043.
