Recently our local newspaper had a letter to the editor requesting clothing assistance for the residents of the Carrollton Manor Nursing Home. Our Lunch Bunch Group at Carrollton Christian said they were up to the ministry challenge. We have decided to also open up this ministry opportunity to our enitre church and our Carrollton community.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank a few individuals and groups that made my competition at The National Sweetheart Pageant, representing Kentucky, a success.

First of all, to Vibrant Med/Erica Chowning for sponsoring the making of my state video with Beyond the Lens Productions. It turned out beautifully and I could not have asked for more supportive sponsors! Also, thanks to Cody Brown with Beyond the Lens for letting his creative juices flow and produce an amazing video in a short time.

This letter is written in response to the P&Z Comprehensive Plan Survey results published in the paper on Aug. 18. We at Fairview Place found it interesting that 13 percent of the respondents were age 65 and over, but 26 percent of the people who replied regarding the housing section of the survey considered availability of senior citizen housing a problem. One of the top ten land uses encouraged was a need for senior/assisted living.
