Having been a part of the WHAS Crusade for Children now for almost a decade, I am honored to announce to the community that it is again time for the 59th annual WHAS Crusade for Children weekend. What a wonderful charity that helps so many deserving children and their families in Kentuckiana, including Carroll County.

The staff and administration of Carroll County Middle School would like to publicly thank Kevin Craig and Mike Humphrey for their recent kindness, generosity and support for Carroll County educators.  May 7-11 was designated as “teacher appreciation week.” School administration wanted to show appreciation to all of our CCMS employees who work hard every day for students.

I want to thank everybody who either attended or donated to my autism awareness/spaghetti meal April 29.

Through the meal, the silent auction items and desserts helped raise $1,501.

There were some great people helping in the kitchen, serving food and collecting the money. I am very grateful to my church, First Baptist.

Since 2008 I have been able to raise $10,001. I consider myself the army of one. The more understanding of autism that takes place, the better life is.

Carroll County Champions apologizes for leaving a few people out of thank you for the Child Abuse Awareness event. We would like to extend “thank yous” to Muffett Chowing for transporting the picnic table numerous times; the carpentry class at the vocational school for building the table; Dave Huesman for filling balloons with helium; Rodney Wheeler for getting the second tank of helium and delivering to us; and Kevin Craig for donating the Helium. Thank you all. We appreciate the extra mile you went just for us.
