On behalf of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and Carroll County Tourism, we would like to thank everyone who has helped organize and plan our Race Fest 2011.

  • Don’t miss the next First Friday program

There was a good crowd on the Courthouse Square for First Friday this weekend. I think it is one of the really nice things about our small town, and try not to ever miss that special evening.

Local farmers and some craftser display their goods. Carrollton Main Street Program furnishes ice water or (this past week) snow cones, while the Carroll County Fair Board or some other group usually fixes sandwiches.

Lucky individuals get to try their hand(s) at the cash cube.Talented individuals win at cooking or photography contests.

  • Softball concession committee thanks sponsors for support

    Editor:

On behalf of the Carroll County High School softball team, we would like to say thank you to all of the fans and parents that came out this year to support the team.

This year, we lost our concession stand and have struggled to raise funds for the program. With the help of the following sponsors we were able to make up some of the loss by selling advertisements for the district tournament programs.

  • Customer service key to welcoming race fans

As our region prepares for an unprecedented number of visitors next week for the inaugural Sprint Cup race at Kentucky Speedway, I hope we offer a warm welcome that makes these folks want to come back to Carroll County.

Nearly a year ago, Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and Carrollton Main Street Program teamed up to offer Shining STAR training to help us prepare for the week ahead. This customer service program focusing on service, training, achievement and recognition was developed by TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky.

  • IN GOD'S HOUSE

I spent several hours last week preparing my Bible study lessons on the Book of Genesis. It is amazing to compare the story of creation to life as it is today.

The study on creation helped me, more and more, to see life of God in every one and in every thing. I see the vibration of God’s life everywhere.

These days, all of us enjoy the sunrise and sunset.

  • First Community Family Event set for Worthville June 23

It is officially summertime, which means it seems that we are all running in different directions and time seems to be flying at a rate that is unreal in comparison to winter.

The sun comes out earlier and stays out later, however that rarely equates to the ability to get more done.  In summertime, we often get so busy that we can forget there are activities going on in our community that we can get involved in.
