Thursday, May 8 King’s Daughters’ Hospital and Health Services will provide a free skin cancer screening from 4-7 p.m. (Madison time) at the Cancer Treatment Center on the corner of 5th and West Street. Kenneth Andries, Ph.D., KSU, Animal Science Specialist will be the guest speaker at the North Central KY Goat Producers Meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Henry County Extension Office. The topic will be on goat care items to have on hand year round or for kidding. Since KSU also suffered higher than normal kid losses this past kidding season, he will also discuss the findings from the diagnosis lab and talk about how to avoid some of the most likely causes of the problems. Saturday, May 17 Trimble County Girl Scout Troop 1861 will have a baby shower at Milton Baptist Church from 12 noon-3 p.m. for the Choices for Women Resource Center, a Madison based crisis center for Jefferson County, Ind. and surrounding counties in Ky. Corn Hole Tournament will be held at Harry Hill Park with sign in beginning at 9 a.m. Tournament will start at 10 a.m. $40.00 per team of two. Tournament is double elimination. 1st and 2nd place winner of tournament will receive a prize. The tourney starts at 9 p.m. at Paul Ogle Riverfront Park and fisherman will fish through the night until 5 a.m. on Saturday morning. After a break, fisherman will go back out from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. To enter the tourney each team pays $175.00 with an 80% payback; $500 added purse to the Big Cat, provided by Switzerland County Tourism.
