CCCDC hires former NKY Main...

The Carroll County Community Development Corporation (CCCDC) has a new executive director. Bob Yoder took the position on Monday, June 3.

Yoder’s previous experience includes work with Northern Kentucky Community Action, renaissance coordinator for the City of Erlanger and Main Street manager for the City of Newport.

Team plans hot dog lunch

The Green Valley Crusaders’ will host a bake sale and lunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, June 14 at Green Valley Nursing Home, 1206 11th Street. The lunch will consist of hot dog or coney, chips and drink for $5.  The Green Valley team’s proceeds benefit Carroll County Relay for Life.

Trolley plan presented to council

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a way to bring senior citizens to community events? Or provide a mode of transportation for those who need a ride to the grocery? Or to bring visitors from General Butler State Resort Park into the heart of downtown Carrollton?

According to the Carroll County trolley committee, the way to do all that and more is to purchase a trolley.

Chairman Deborah Garrett presented the idea to Carrollton City Council on Monday, June 10.

Farewell set for Father Davy

 St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church invites the community to join in saying thank you and farewell to Father Kavungal Davy from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, June 23. in the parish hall. Everyone is welcome.

Troopers set golf scramble

Kentucky State Police Post 5 will host the 2013 Trooper Island Golf Scramble June 12 at the Henry County Country Club in New Castle. Trooper Island is a non-profit organization that operates solely on private contributions.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the scramble will begin at 9 a.m.

The cost is $60 per person or $240 per team. It includes green fees, cart and lunch. The fee also includes a chance to win a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro.
