Studies show dads have a big...

Sunday marked my fourth Father’s Day as a father. I am starting to really like this holiday.

Numerous times on Sunday, my wife Katie said to our two daughters, “Today is Daddy’s day. What else should we do to make it special for him?” I admit that I could get used to that kind of treatment.

Froman club hosts two ‘fearless...

Members of the Caby M. Froman Club and their guests gathered at noon Friday, June 7, at the Harmony Landing Country Club of Goshen, Ky., for the club’s annual June luncheon. 

President Sandra Thomas welcomed those in attendance with her reading of “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. The group then joined in singing “My Old Kentucky Home.”  Special music followed with Mary Ellis Combs singing “Summertime.” Sue Scott offered the blessing.

Beggs gradutes from Wright State

Kasey M. Beggs graduated from Wright State University Monday, May 27. She earned a bachelor’s degree in motion picture history, theory and criticism; minors in motion picture production and German. Beggs is the daughter of Karen K. Smith, of Henry County Ky. and the late Clyde Beggs, D.V.M.

Thank you for tornado donations

I’d like to take a minute to thank everyone who was involved with our tornado relief trip to Oklahoma a couple weeks ago.  So many people stepped up with items to donate, words of encouragement, monetary donations, help sorting and boxing, and most of all prayers and concern, that we were really overwhelmed emotionally.
