    Carroll County Middle School hosted Trimble County Middle School in the boys border war, Nov. 6. Carroll County won the seventh grade contest, 29-28, as Justin Williams hit the game-winning basket with 14 seconds left in the game. Trimble County won the eighth-grade game handily by a score of 55-15.
  • Yellow Jackets hit the trifecta
    For the first time in recent years, the three Carroll County Yellow Jackets football teams all advanced to the Oldham County Youth League Super Bowl, held Sunday, Nov. 2. Unfortunately, none of them were able to come away with the win. The Mighty Mites lost to the Dragons, 14-7. They are coached by head coach Mike Guenthner and assistant coach Caleb Guenthner. The Pee Wees lost to the Falcons, 25-14. The head coach is Jeff Welch, and Mike Stewart and Travis Price are assistant coaches.
  • Special Olympics bowling
    Carroll County Special Olympics Bowling team competed Oct. 26 in Louisville for the Area 4 Bowling Tournament. The following results were posted: Rhonda Burns, fourth; Thomas Granger; second; David Gregory, first; Wally Gross, fourth; Amanda Hearn, fourth; *Zach Lynn, third; Damon Maines, fourth; Mary Pyles, second; Clint Smith, fifth; and Dylan Williamson, first. * Zach Lynn competed in Lexington on Oct. 21 State competition will be Dec. 6 in Louisville.
  • 2015 Little Rookies sign up
    Registration for Parks and Recreation Little Rookies basketball will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 27-Nov. 7, Monday through Friday at the Parks and Recreation office, located on the third floor of the courthouse. Forms also can be mailed with payment before deadline to 440 Main Street, Carrollton, Ky., 41008. Forms also can be faxed to (502) 732-7033 and payment mailed. Children ages 3-5 as of Jan. 1, 2015, will be in the lower league, while children 6 through second grade will be in the upper league.
