The Carroll County High School volleyball team is hosting youth volleyball camp from 9 a.m. to noon June 12-14 at the high school gymnasium. Incoming fourth-graders and up are welcome. The cost is $50 for all three days if preregistered by Sunday, June 9, and $60 at the door. Make all checks payable to CCHS Volleyball. Forms and payment may be sent to the high school.
Carroll County Middle School eighth-grader Malachi Corbin won the Middle School State Track and Field Championship in both shot put and discus, setting new personal bests in both events. The meet was held Saturday, May 25 at University of Louisville.
His throw of 45 feet 1 inch in the shot put was more than two feet further than the second place throw, high school head coach Joe Creager said in an e-mail.
Carroll County Parks and Recreation opening day is Saturday, May 11.

The Carroll County Middle School eighth-grade baseball team has won three straight games, with victories over Williamstown, Walton-Verona and Highlands Latin.
Head coach Rick McMahan said he is proud of the boys and that it has been a complete team effort.
There are four seventh-graders playing on the eighth-grade team: Eli Yocum, Jake Robertson, Cameron McIntyre and Garrett Sanders, McMahan said.
Due to unforeseen circumstances at Henry County they have canceled all of their meets for this season. This means there will not be any Elementary track meets this season, track coach Joe Creager said in an email. “We look forward to having your son/daughter out in the fall for cross country and again next spring for (track),” he wrote. “I’m sorry for the inconvenience.” For any questions, contact Creager at Carroll County High School, (502) 732-7075.
