Carroll County Parks and Recreation will hold youth baseball and softball registration Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 13 to March 2 on the third floor of the courthouse. There will be one registration day held 1-3 p.m. Feb. 26 at Kathryn Winn Primary School.
There are programs available for boys and girls ages 3 to 12.
Age determination date is April 30, 2012 with the exception of girl’s softball which is Dec. 31, 2011.
Registration fees are $25 for each child. Blastball (ages 3 and 4) is $15. There is a discount for siblings.
SPARTA, Ky. – Kentucky Speedway will place single race tickets for its five NASCAR races including the June 30 Sprint Cup Series “Quaker State 400” on sale Feb. 8 at 9 a.m., and allow customers to carry coolers in to all events for the first time in speedway history.
Sign-ups for Parks and Recreation Little Rookies Basketball ends Friday, Dec. 9. Both boys and girls play in the league: Ages 3-5 in the lower league and Ages 6-2nd grade in the upper league, age as of Jan. 1, 2012.

Smothering defense led to offensive opportunities for the Carroll County Middle School seventh and eighth grade girls’ basketball teams. Both teams defeated their Henry County counterparts at home on Tuesday, Nov. 15.
The seventh graders forced numerous turnovers with their defensive pressure, even after calling off the full-court press in the second half, and won 33-7.
Tied 5-5 after the first quarter, the eighth graders jump-started their offense and kept the Lady Wildcats at bay, winning 31-24.
The Carroll County High School boys basketball team will be hosting a men’s Panther Alumni Basketball Game on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. There has been a great response from former players.
