  • Soccer squads host camp
  • Rockin’ Out!
    Paragon Arts and Music Academy held its Rock Star Dance Camp July 15-19. Every day was dedicated to a different rock star: Taylor Swift, Victoria Justice, Shake It Up, Rock Star Barbie and Fresh Beat Barbie. The girls learned a new dance every day and performed a rock concert for their parents at the end of camp. Campers also worked on rock star-themed crafts, modeled for a photo shoot, made music videos and sang karaoke. At the end of the week, each camper received a certificate, goody bag and rock star t-shirt.
  • Yellow Jackets sign-ups | July 17, 2013

  • Parks and Rec Soccer sigups | July 10, 2013
    Carroll County Parks and Recreation co-ed youth soccer league registration is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 26 at their office on the third floor of the courthouse. Extended hours will be held from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17. The program is for children ages 2-11 as of July 31. Older children may be required to travel. Cost is $15 for U4 and U6 players (ages 2-5) and $25 for the other age groups. Additional siblings are $15 each.
  • Youth Soccer Camp July 22-26
    The fifth annual Carroll County High School soccer camp will be held Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26 at the Carroll County Westrick Park soccer fields. Camp is for children from four years old through eighth grade. Camp will begin at 5:30 p.m. for all campers. Campers ages four and five will end at 6:30 p.m.; everyone else will practice until 8:30 p.m. The cost for four- and five-year-olds is $15, and the cost for ages six and up is $25.

  • Wet Weather Weekend: Regatta Cup race canceled for first time in 63 years
    MADISON, Ind.—High water levels of the rain-swollen Ohio River forced the cancellation of the 2013 Lucas Oil Indiana Governor’s Cup over the weekend. An inordinate amount of rainfall over the region kept officials of Madison Regatta, Inc., and H1 Unlimited guessing all weekend as to how soon the rising water would stabilize. Madison Regatta, Inc., is the volunteer organization that promotes the race each year. H1 Unlimited is the governing body for Unlimited hydroplane racing internationally.

    Joe Gibbs Racing driver Matt Kenseth drove a patient race behind the dominant Lowe’s car of Jimmie Johnson and took advantage of a late Johnson miscue to win Sunday’s Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts at Kentucky Speedway.
