  • 3 on 3 basketball game benefits relay
    Team Robbins will host a 3 on 3, with a sub basketball tournament on Saturday, April 6 at the Robert Westrick Memorial Park (county park).  Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. with games beginning at noon.  Registration fee is $40 with the winning team receiving 25 percent.  If you are interested in participating or have any questions or concerns, please contact Michael McGuire at (502) 514-6993 or Jeremy Hunt at (502) 525-4670.  All proceeds will go to the Carroll County Relay For Life.  Help us fight this dreaded disease of cancer.
  • Future Panthers baseball camp held April 14-May 5
    The Carroll County High School baseball team will conduct a youth baseball camp Sunday afternoons from April 14-May 5. The CCHS coaching staff and current players will be conducting the four-week camp. It is not mandatory to attend all four sessions, but it is recommended. Camp will be held at the Carroll County Conditioning Center (located next to the Carroll County Area Technology Center) and at CCHS baseball field (weather permitting). The camp is open to boys and girls and will be divided into two groups depending on age and skill level.
  • Hunters education class offered March 15-16
    A free Kentucky Hunters Education class will be taught Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16 at the Carroll County Extension Building located at 500 Floyd Drive in Carrollton. This is a ten hour course covering hunter ethics, firearms safety, first aid, survival wildlife identification and more. The class will run for three hours on Friday evening beginning at 6 p.m. and seven hours on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.  For additional information contact Tom Dapron  (502) 732-5120.

    The Upper Little Rookies and Lower Little Rookies competed Sunday, Feb. 24, at Kathryn Winn Primary.

    The Junior Panthers team held the weekend tournament to raise money for their team.
  • Heading to Nationals
    The Carroll County High School and Carroll County Middle School cheerleaders competed at Adair County High School Saturday, Feb. 16 and were named Cheer LTDs Southern Kentucky Varsity Non-Tumble Champions. CCHS will compete in the JamFest Nationals in Louisville March 23-24. CCMS will compete in Cheer LTD Nationals in Myrtle Beach March 15-17. Senior Jessica Price was named Senior Cheer Individual Champion. Jessica Peck, Jasmine Beach, Doodle Amick, Darian Skirvin and Price also were named Senior Group Stunt 2nd-runner up.
  • Parks and Rec baseball, softball sign-ups
    Carroll County Parks and Recreation 2013 youth baseball and softball registration will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday from Feb. 11-March 1 at the parks and recreation office on the third floor of the downtown county courthouse.   • Local Special Olympians bring home top medals
    Special Olympics  Alpine Skiing Competitions were held Jan. 27-29 at Perfect North Slopes in Indiana. The winners were: Slalom — gold medal, Heather Westover; bronze medal, Zach Lynn; and bronze medal, Clint Smith. Giant Slalom — gold medal, Heather Westover; silver medal, Clint Smith; and fourth place, Zach Lynn. Snow Shoes 50 Meter Event — silver, Robbie Andrews; silver, Rhonda Burns; silver, Thomas Granger; and bronze, Amanda Hearn.
  • Cartmell Cheerleaders
