  • Carroll pulls off homecoming win in dramatic style

    Carroll County senior Jacob Evans stepped to the free throw line with score tied and only eight tenths of a second left on the clock and calmly drilled the first free throw giving Carroll County the margin it needed to pull out a 60-59 victory over the Gallatin County Wildcats.

    The Panthers tried to make the win more difficult when they had a line violation on the second free throw allowing Gallatin County to call time out and set up a play.

  • Gallatin avenges loss, beat Carroll, 70-59, in All ‘A’

    Despite an excellent second half, Carroll County’s offensive drought in the first half was too much to overcome, as the Panthers fell to Gallatin County, 70-59, in the 8th Regional All ‘A’ Tournament Tuesday, Jan. 12.

  • Lady Panthers advance in All ‘A’

    Carroll County’s defense shut out Eminence’s offense in the second half, en route to a 47-10 victory in the first round of the 8th Region All ‘A’ Tournament Monday, Jan. 11, at Owen County High School. Carroll took on Walton-Verona in the semifinals Wednesday. Results were unavailable by presstime.

  • Gallatin defeats Carroll, 56-33

    The Carroll County Lady Panthers (3-10) fell behind in the second quarter and were unable to catch up, losing 56-33 to Gallatin County Saturday, Jan. 9.

    Both teams got off to a slow start offensively, as Gallatin’s Peyton Morgan hit the first basket of the game at the 3:18 mark. The Lady Wildcats (9-7) led 6-4 after one quarter of play.

  • Panthers basketball 1-2 at tournament

    The Carroll County High School boys basketball team played in the PBI/Danny Annis Classic Dec. 28-30. The Panthers defeated Edmonson County, but lost to Ohio County and Owensboro Catholic.

    Carroll lost 68-56 to Ohio County Dec. 28. The Panthers trailed by five at the end of the first quarter, and still found themselves behind by five at halftime. Ohio County slowly pulled away in the third and fourth quarters.

    Ohio County’s Travis Carter led all scorers with a double-double, 25 points and 11 rebounds.

  • Panthers drop heartbreaker to Henry in overtime
  • Groseclose reaches 1,000 points; Ladies win in OT

    Carroll County Lady Panthers concluded the Tuesday night district boy/girl double header with a 42-39 overtime victory over the visiting Henry County Lady Wildcats. Senior Miranda Groseclose signed her name into the CCHS record books, joining the 1,000 point club.

    The night began full of anticipation for Groseclose, as she entered the game just nine points away from 1,000. But it also led to a slow start for the Lady Panthers.

  • Carroll falls to Ludlow

    Carroll County head girls’ basketball coach Paul Stone drew up a play that almost worked to tie up the game at the buzzer Saturday, as the Lady Panthers dropped a 37-35 decision to the visiting Ludlow Lady Panthers.

    Carroll County had to go the length of the floor with 2.6 seconds left in the game. Haley Dermon threw the ball in to Abigail Aulbach at mid-court, who passed the ball to Miranda Groseclose. Groseclose took a dribble and the horn went off before she could get a shot off.

  • Homecoming Court

    Carroll County High School’s winter homecoming will be held Friday, Jan. 8. The ceremony will be held between the JV and varsity boys basketball game at about 7:30 p.m. The Panthers take on Gallatin County.
