  • Carroll County drops home...

    Another slow start put the Carroll County Panthers behind early, as they fell 71-61 to the Eminence Warriors in a home district seed game Jan. 23.

    One-and-a-half minutes into the game, the Panthers were behind 8-0, forcing Carroll County head coach Carroll Yager to call a time out.

    Yager took another time out with 4:09 left in the first quarter, and the Panthers were down, 16-0.

    Eminence made three of its four 3-point goals during this stretch, as Jake Mckinnley and Kemryn Jenkins each contributed eight points.

  • Ladies win big over Warriors, 55...

    The Lady Panthers notched their first back-to-back wins of the season Thursday, Jan. 22, with a 55-25 home win over Eminence. They defeated Central Hardin Jan. 17.

  • Dragons’ run in 3Q too much for...

    South Oldham’s third quarter defense stifled a Carroll County run and helped the visiting Dragons pull away, winning 84-60.

    Down 11 at halftime, the Panthers (8-10) pulled within seven points on a 3-pointer by Isaiah Hogan with 3:54 remaining in the third quarter. Unfortunately for Carroll County, that would be their last field goal of the quarter. South Oldham (7-13) ratcheted up their defensive intensity, trapping in their full-court press, and forcing Carroll County into turnovers.

  • Parks and Rec baseball/softball...

    Signups have begun for 2015 Carroll County Parks and Recreation baseball and softball. The cost is $30 per registrant. Siblings living in the same household can register for $15 each.

    Children ages 4-16 can sign up. If a child is turning four in the 2015 calendar year, they are eligible to register.

    Girls beat Bruins

    The Lady Panthers (6-10)  traveled to Elizabethtown Saturday and came home with a 45-37 win over the Central Hardin Lady Bruins (2-17).

    After giving up 16 points in the second quarter to fall behind 21-15 at the half, the Lady Panthers bounced back in the third quarter. They outscored the Lady Bruins 17-12, down one heading into the final quarter. Carroll outscored their opponent 13-4 to take the win.

  • Owen dominates over Carroll in...

    Owen County continued the momentum from last week’s regional All “A” championship in Tuesday night’s 81-39 district win over Carroll County.

    Owen scored the first basket of the game on a dunk by junior forward Carson Williams. Vince Toftness added eight of his game high 26 points as Owen rolled to a 13-0 lead before Carroll County junior forward Austin Crank scored Carroll’s first points with 2:55 left in the first quarter.

    Lady Panthers pick up road win
    Carroll County defeated Henry County, 35-29, in New Castle Jan. 6. The Lady Panthers jumped out to an 11-4 first-quarter lead, but the Lady Cats fought back in the second quarter to pull within two at the half, 19-17. Neither team scored many points in the third quarter (6-4 Carroll). The Lady Panthers were able to hold on in the fourth for the win.
