  • Panthers run over Raiders, 59-13

    In an eagerly anticipated game between two close rivals, the Carroll County football team defeated the Trimble County Raiders 59-13 on Friday, Oct.19.

    The Raiders faced an onslaught of tough offensive plays from the Panthers, as Carroll scored two touchdowns by John Michael Adams and Tyshaun Embs minutes after kickoff, 13-0.

  • Season ends for volleyball team...

    Carroll County rolled into the 8th Region volleyball tournament for the first time in school history Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Shelby County High School. Their time in the tournament was brief as Anderson County rolled to a 3-0 (18-25, 14-25, 22-25) victory.

    “The girls admitted that they were nervous, and it showed up in our play,” head coach Kristen Hooper said. “… We were not mechanically on our game. … We were mediocre at best with our passing; when you don’t pass well then you are mediocre at setting.”

    Carroll County wrapped up its first ever 31st District Volleyball Championship with a 3-0 victory over Henry County.

    Carroll County came out aggressive scoring first in all three sets. Coach Kristen Hooper said the Lady Panthers wanted to be aggressive at the net and with their serving, accomplished that goal.

    “I wanted us to counteract the nerves and emotions that effected us at the start of our last two matches,” Hooper said. “We knew that Henry County was an excellent team.”

    Carroll County wrapped up its first ever 31st District Volleyball Championship with a 3-0 victory over Henry County.

    The Carroll County High School Panthers finished the regular season with a road loss at Owen County. On Thursday night, they returned to Owenton and came home with the 31st District championship.

    The Panthers scored in the first five minutes and again late in the contest to come away with a 2-0 win. Josh McCarty netted both goals for Carroll County and Cody Damron  stopped every shot Owen County sent his way to earn the shutout.

    “This is 10 years worth of work,” Carroll County Head Boys Soccer Coach Ben Crutcher said.

    Carroll County’s magical season came to an end with a 5-0 loss to Oldham County (9-9-1) in the quarterfinals of the 8th Region boys soccer tournament Monday night. Carroll County finishes its season with a record of 15-8-0.

    Coach Ben Crutcher said he was so proud of his team. They battled all night against a very good soccer team. Oldham County is a very fundamentally sound team.
