    SPARTA, Ky.—Brad Keselowski squeezed enough fuel out of his Team Penske Miller Lite Ford and held off hard-charging Carl Edwards to win Saturday’s sixth annual NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Quaker State 400 Presented by Advance Auto Parts. The win was “Bad Brad’s” third to go along with two other top five finishes in the six Sprint Cup races held at the Kentucky Speedway.

  • Busch blazes to Alsco 300 victory

    Kentucky Speedway was repaved and reconfigured over the offseason but Kyle Busch showed Friday evening that he still knows how to get around it.

    Busch dominated the Alsco 300 but his fifth victory in nine NASCAR XFINITY Series starts this season didn’t come easily.

  • Soccer Camp

    Carroll County High School soccer will host its annual soccer camp beginning Sunday, July 24, and continuing the next four Sundays (through Aug. 21). Camp will be held from 2-5 p.m. at the high school field. Cost is $25 for U-8, U-10 and U-12. Camp will be one hour for U-6 and cost $15. Campers can register the day of camp.

    MADISON, Ind. — A spectacular flip on the final lap of Sunday’s MainSource Bank Indiana Governor’s Cup presented by Belterra Casino Resort forced a premature ending to one of the most exciting championship heats in recent Madison Regatta history. After the race was red flagged, H1 Unlimited officials declared the winner to be Jimmy Shane driving the community-owned hometown favorite, Miss HomeStreet Bank/Miss Madison.

    “Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge” host and former NFL linebacker Dhani Jones will serve as the honorary pace vehicle driver for the sixth annual NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto parts on Saturday, July 9.

    “As a fan of NASCAR, riding in the pace vehicle is an honor,” Jones said in a news release. “I am thrilled to lead the cars to the green flag at the Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts at Kentucky Speedway. It is going to be an exciting experience that I am looking forward to.”

  • NASCAR returns to Sparta

    Forty 725-horsepower cars will take to the track at Kentucky Speedway on Saturday night as part of NASCAR’s annual trip to the Bluegrass State for the Sprint Cup series drivers.

    The race weekend consists of three NASCAR races: the Camping World Truck Series Buckle Up In Your Truck 225 at 8:30 p.m. Thursday night, the Xfinity Series Alsco 300 at 8:30 p.m. Friday night and the weekend’s cornerstone with the Sprint Cup Series race, the Quaker State 400 at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night.
