    Bailey honored at senior night Sept. 15

    Carroll County girls' golf honored their lone senior, Jadyn Bailey, with cake and refreshments after a match against Gallatin County, Sept. 15. Gallatin failed to field a team so Carroll was awarded the match win.

    Scoring for Carroll was Ciara Hamilton 49, Jadyn Bailey 55, Natalie Bennett 58, Taylor Napier 65, Amelia Napier 69.

    Boys golf sends off four seniors Sept. 18

  • Gallatin defeats Carroll, 4-0

    The Carroll County girls soccer team held Gallatin County scoreless in the first half before being outscored 4-0 in the second half of the district match up Thursday, Sept. 18.

    “The girls stepped up and played an awesome game,” head coach Greg Damron said. “... To hold them to four (goals) was a major plus for us. I really do think they were expecting to come in and 10-0 us.”

    Gallatin kept the ball on Carroll’s side most of the first half and shots on goal were clearly in Gallatin’s favor.

    Dermon, Cruz lead cross country at Grant

    Carroll County High School boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Grant County Invitational Sept. 6. Haley Dermon led the way with a 48th-place finish. Last year as a freshman she finished 78th, so that is a great improvement, head coach Brian Crank said. 

    Guillermo Cruz led the boys with a 75th-place finish. The boys’ overall score was 180 points, which was better than last year’s score, Crank said. 

  • Volleyball wins at Henry, 3-1

    Carroll County volleyball traveled to Henry County Sept. 11, and defeated the Lady Wildcats 3-1 in a 31st district matchup. The Lady Panthers lost the first game, 22-25, then won the next three games 25-22, 25-21, and 25-9.

  • Owen beats Carroll, 5-0

    The Lady Rebels soccer team used their physical style of play to their advantage against the Lady Panthers Thursday, Sept. 11, winning 5-0.

    Despite the loss, head coach Greg Damron was positive about Carroll County’s determination to not let it happen again.  

  • Lady Panthers runners-up in All...

    Carroll County finished as the runner-up at the 8th Region All “A” volleyball tournament Sept. 13.

    The Lady Panthers fell to Walton-Verona in the championship game 2-0 (20-25,9-25). Carroll defeated Gallatin County 2-1 (25-17, 23-25, 25-17) and host Trimble County 2-1 (25-16, 20-25, 27-25) to advance to the championship game.

  • Reserves get valuable playing...

    The Panthers soccer team dominated the visiting Owen County Rebels Thursday, Sept. 11, possessing the ball in Rebels’ territory the majority of the game and winning, 5-1. Because of the first-string’s efforts, the reserve players played valuable minutes for the Panthers in the second half. 

    “Overall everybody from top to bottom played well tonight,” head coach Ben Crutcher said. “

    Crutcher said this year’s team is more laid back than in previous years and they like to have fun.
