  • Carroll girls come out flat,...

    A Gallatin County goal within the first 30 seconds of the match quickly deflated Carroll County and set the tone for the rest of the match, as the Lady Wildcats won, 9-0, Sept. 29.

    Gallatin’s offense took the ball off the opening tip and dribbled straight down the field, as Aurora Cocchetto scored with just 17 seconds ticked off the clock.

  • Gallatin shuts out Carroll, 51-0...

    The Carroll County Panthers football team was shutout Friday night at Gallatin County, losing 51-0. Gallatin amassed 369 total yards (315 rushing and 54 passing) compared to 73 total yards for Carroll (20 rushing and 53 passing).

    Head coach Lee Downey did not return phone calls Tuesday for comment.

  • Yellow Jackets football | Oct. 6...

    The Carroll County Yellow Jacket youth football teams play in the Oldham County Youth Football League. The Yellow Jackets field three teams: Pee Wee, 5-7 years of age; Junior, 8-9 years of age and Senior, 10-12 years of age. The teams practice at Robert Westrick Memorial Park. Sign-ups for the 2017 season begin June 29, and end Aug. 6. More information can be found at www.carrollcountyparksandrecreation.website.siplay.com.

  • Lady Panthers tie Paris in...

    Carroll County girls’ soccer team did not get off to a good start on senior night Monday, Oct. 3, as they allowed visiting Paris to double it’s season’s goal total in the first 10 minutes of the match. But luckily, the Lady Panthers were able to match them, as the game ended in a 2-2 tie.

    Paris High School had only scored two goals all season heading into the match, and they scored just two minutes and 39 seconds into the match. They would add a second goal with 31 minutes left in the half.

  • Volleyball picks up district win...

    Carroll County’s Lady Panther volleyball team picked up a much needed district win when they defeated Henry County 3-1 (25-10, 14-25, 26-24 and 27-25) Sept. 27.

    Carroll has split matches with Eminence and Henry County, but has lost both matches to Gallatin and Owen counties. The Lady Panthers will be either the four or five seed in the district tournament when it begins Oct. 17.

  • Panthers soccer claims top spot...

    Carroll County clinched the top seed in the 31st District Tournament with a 3-1 victory over Gallatin County Sept. 29. The two teams split contests this season, with Gallatin defeating Carroll 2-1 on a shootout Sept. 20, but because Carroll won by two goals, they were awarded the tiebreaker.

  • Seniors win powderpuff crown

    The Carroll County High School senior class celebrated its 28-22 victory over the the sophomore class in the 2016 Powder Puff championship. The sophomores defeated the juniors 8-0 and the seniors defeated the freshman 26-8 to reach the championship game. The freshmen are in maroon, the sophomores are in pink, the juniors are in white and the seniors are in black jerseys.
