  • CCHS volleyball camp June 10-12

    Carroll County High School volleyball hosts its youth camp June 10-12 at the high school. Camp will be held from 9 a.m.-noon. Girls heading in to third through eighth grades are welcome.

    The cost is $45 for all three days if pre-registered by June 5, or $50 at the door. Campers will learn from CCHS coaches, players, college-level players and CCHS alumni. They also will receive a t-shirt.

  • CCHS football hosts golf scramble

    Carroll County High School football boosters will host a golf scramble May 30, at Cardinal Hills Golf Course, 335 Starks Lane, Bedford. Tee time is 9 a.m.

    The cost is $240 for a team of four or $220 if pre-registered by May 16. The maximum number of teams is 20.

    The event includes a meal, prizes, a live DJ, silent auction, 50/50 raffle and contests including Wear a skirt at the red tee, longest drive and closest to the pin.

  • Lady Raiders win over Lady...

    The Trimble County Lady Raiders closed out their regular season by claiming a 5-2 win over border rival Carroll County while sending their four seniors out in a big way on Senior Night.

    Carroll County’s Kyra Kane scored a run in the first inning to put the Lady Panthers on the scoreboard. Kane drew a walk, was advanced to second on a fielder’s choice ground out, then scored on a single by Mackenzie Hawkins.

  • Tennis camp June 3-5

    Carroll County High School tennis will host a youth tennis camp June 3-5, at the high school tennis courts. Camp is open to incoming students in first through 12th grades. First through fifth-grade camp will be from 5:15-6:15 p.m., and sixth-12th-grade from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

    The cost is $30 for all three days if pre-registered by May 29, $40 at the door or $15 per day.

  • Carroll offense hot, then stalls...

    After taking a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the second, the Carroll County High School baseball team allowed visiting Bellevue to get back in the game and steal a 5-4 win Friday, May 15. 

    “We’ve been like that all year,” head coach Jimmy Ray said. “I don’t know how many times this season we’ve got a big lead on somebody and never put them away.”

  • Panthers advance to district...

    Carroll County took the first step towards repeating as 31st District champions as the Panthers defeated Gallatin County 7-1.

    The Panther received another strong pitching performance from sophomore Seth Hicks as he allowed only two hits while striking out 10 and walking two. He picked up his fourth win of the season.

    The Panthers came out a little flat at the start of the game as Gallatin freshman pitcher Austin Spada kept them off balance through the first two innings.

  • Hawkins named All-Conference
  • Lady Panthers fall in Round 2 to...

    The Lady Panthers’ season came to a close Tuesday night in the second round of the 31st District Tournament. Carroll County lost to Henry County, 4-0. Kyra Kane and Houston Lindsay were named to the All-Tournament team.

    It also marked the end of a high school softball career for lone Lady Panther senior Mackenzi Hawkins.
