  • CAC Lady Eagles now 11-0

    The Christian Academy of Carrollton Lady Eagles ran its record to 11-0 with a 43-18 win over Maryville Independent Christian Academy of Hope. Megan Green lead the Lady Eagles in scoring with 16 points. Michaela Bales scored 15 points, Gabby Kamphouse scored eight points and Kristy Hoff scored four points.

    Eminence beats Carroll for a second time

    Despite holding a four-point lead at the end of the third quarter, the Panthers couldn’t hold on, as the Warriors outscored the visitors 28-12 in the fourth quarter to win, 68-56, Jan. 31. With the loss, Carroll County drops to the No. 5 seed in the 31st District Tournament, while Eminence holds the No. 2 seed.

    For Trimble County fans, last week’s battle with visiting Carroll County delivered everything spectators of a rivalry game could hope for. For disappointed Carroll fans, the outcome fell a basket short as the Panthers led most of the way until an empty stretch in the final quarter allowed Trimble to take the lead and hold it down the stretch for a 66-64 win Feb. 3.

  • Carroll competes in Winter...

    Carroll County Special Olympics participated in the Winter Olympics Jan. 25-27 at Perfect North, in Lawrenceburg, Ind. The following are the results:

    Michelle Barnes: First (Gold), 50 meter snowshoe race and second (silver) 25 meter snow shoe;

    Rhonda Burns: First (Gold) 100 meter snowshoe race, and first (gold) 50 meter snowshoe;

    Thomas Granger: First (gold) 100 Meter snowshoe, and third (bronze) 50 meter snowshoe;

  • Lady Mustangs ‘D’ troublesome...

    Missed free throws and turnovers were, once again, the stumbling block for the Carroll County Lady Panthers against North Oldham Tuesday. Despite its miscues, the team was still within three points after a successful three-point play by Lauren Moore with 1:51 left in the game. But two empty possessions and less than a minute to go forced the Lady Panthers to start fouling, and North Oldham hit 4-6 free throws down the stretch to seal the 58-51 win.

    The Carroll County Panthers broke a six-game losing streak Friday with a 47-35, victory over the visiting Dayton Greendevils.

  • Lady Panthers sweep Lady Rebels...

    The Lady Panthers picked up their fourth straight win over the Lady Rebels Friday, Jan. 30, winning 50-45. Carroll’s Haley Dermon led all scorers with 17 points.

  • Monster second half results in...

    Carroll County Lady Panthers put together a complete game in a 59-40 defeat of the Newport Ladycats Tuesday, Feb. 3.

    Newport jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead before Carroll battled back, taking an 11-9 lead on a Lauren Moore basket. Newport closed the first quarter out with a pair of free throws to lead by one point.

    Newport pushed out to its largest lead, 20-13, before Abigail Aulbach hit a 3-point shot to close the gap to four points. Carroll tied the game at 22 before Mariah Ingram hit a 3-point basket to give Newport the lead they carried into the half, 27-24.

  • Trimble defeats Carroll in...

    A concentrated defensive effort on the part of Trimble County’s Lady Raiders held Carroll County’s lone senior in check for most of Saturday’s basketball matchup, enabling Trimble to pull out a 48-34 victory over the visiting Lady Panthers.
