  • Leaving a legacy

Last season when then-junior Michael Hall set the Carroll County High School scoring record with 21 goals, head coach Ben Crutcher thought soccer could not be beat.

But Hall proved it could be. By a lot.

In his senior season, Hall scored 36 goals and dished out 13 assists – tying Brandon Stewart’s school record set last season – and helped his team win back-to-back 31st District championships. He will hang up his black-and-gold Panthers jersey as the all-time scoring leader with 70 career goals.

A high-powered offense and a smothering defense both came to play Friday night for Carroll County on senior night, as the Panthers defeated the Dayton Greendevils, 42-8. The first-stringers had a shutout going until the Greendevils scored on the back-ups with 5:54 remaining.

  • JV football ends season 6-1

The Carroll County High School JV football team posted a 6-1 record this season, bouncing back from 1-5 last year.

“It was a great group of kids to be around and a true joy to watch all the kids who took their lumps last season come back this year and refuse to let that happen again,” head coach Brian Dorshefski said. “Guys like Caleb McCarty, Cam Rose, Isaiah Hogan, Ramsay Gordon, the list goes on, they all took pride in what they did, worked to get better and it paid off for them.”
