Senior Chris Hendrick and sophomore Ethan Stewart were named to the eighth region all tournament team last week in Shelby County following tournament play there.

Ethan had a great tournament with four hits in two games, head coach Jay Jones said.  “He really had a solid post season.  He also had several hits in the district tourney.”

Fuzz Bevill, Lyndsey Bevill, Todd Crawford and Jeremy Martin won the Carroll County Lady Panthers’16th annual Hoop Club Golf Scramble May 23 at the Fairway Golf Course in Wheatley, Ky.

Head coach Randy Mefford said they finished in a tie in regulation with the team of Richard Hardesty, Ashley Bartrum, Albert Tuttle and Rick Dalenberg with a score of 55, 16 under par, and won the first hole of a sudden death playoff with a birdie on hole 18.  

Three Carroll County High School students from the Panther track team earned Academic All State honors by achieving a 3.75 or higher grade point average and making it to the state track meet. Nikki Hill, Ana Jimenez-Luttrell, and Teila Winburn received the prestigious award according to head track coach, Joe Creager.  

Brittany Arvin received Honorable Mention Academic All-State for achieving a 3.5 to 3.749 grade point average.     

The Lady Panthers softball season came to an end, Monday, May 18 with a loss in the 31 District tournament at the hands of the Lady Rebels of Owen County, 2-1.

The Lady Panthers were three up, three down the first two innings, but Kaylee Perry got on base with a walk in the top of the third inning.  Unfortunately she was stranded at first.

The fourth inning went the same as the first two innings for Carroll County while the Lady Rebels were able to get on the scoreboard, plating one run off two hits.
