The biggest surprise in the local election came in the race for District 4 constable. Democrat Tim Keller was elected with 232 votes over write-in candidate Don McCarty’s 199 votes. Independent candidate Jesus Jesse Chavez had 132 votes. Keller only won one precinct, Providence, and McCarty and Chavez split the other two precincts, East Bedford and Antioch. McCarty narrowly won the East Bedford precinct and Chavez won the Antioch precinct.
