I’d like to take this opportunity to say thanks to everyone for your help in making our Relay For Life so successful.

When the American Cancer Society asked me to be county chairman, I said I’d to it for two years. We’ve more than doubled that, and it’s time for me to get out of the way and let someone else take the lead.

Carroll County is a great place to live and I’m very thankful to everyone for the way you’ve welcomed me and been there for me, especially your many kind thoughts and prayers since my wife, April, died. April was a blessing and gift from God, and she is truly missed; but at the same time, she is in a much better place than any of us.

To be honest, it’s been emotionally tough to be the chair of our Relay without April, but I’ve done my best to help where I could. I hope what we’ve accomplish will continue.

The executive director of the American Cancer Society for this area is Jamie Webb, (859) 372-7880. Thanks again to everyone.

John Brockman
